Porky Pig and Daffy Duck are Earth’s only hope when it is threatened by an alien invasion. The first Looney Tunes film to be released in theaters by Warner Bros. The pictures were not distributed. The film was originally intended to be available exclusively on the streaming service Max. After the company withdrew the film from distribution, it was sent to other distributors, and GFM Animation eventually acquired the worldwide distribution rights and changed the film’s format to a theatrical release. Inside the meteorite, when Daffy demonstrates his talent for control, he pulls a lever to lower the machine, then pushes it to rise again. Porky does the same later in the scene. But when Porky and Petunia are strapped in, Daffy pushes the lever forward and the machine continues to lower them. At the end of the credits, Porky Pig makes his classic statement, “That’s it, people!” only to be interrupted by Daffy Duck, who tells him that this is not the end of the movie and that they need a sequel. I really enjoyed the film. The plot is a bit, well, crazy, but what else can you expect from Looney Tunes when Daffy Duck and Porky Pig work as a movie. I have to say, however, that the action was a bit over the top. Of course, we’re talking about Looney Tunes here, and specifically Daffy Duck, but still… Then the joke fell flat. There were definitely some funny moments, but they lacked or were rare in the proper wit and humor that characterizes a Looney Tunes cartoon. But other than that, I can recommend this film as a hand-drawn animation set in a contemporary setting. The review comes from Germany, where the film has already been released.
